Alvin "Al" E. Szewczyk

Alvin "Al" E. Szewczyk age 67. a longtime resident of New Lenox, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022. Loving husband of Michele (Andjelic) Szewczyk beloved father of Andrew Szewczyk, Matthew Szewczyk, Michael Szewczyk and John Szewczyk; dearest brother of Darlene (David) Penkas; fond uncle of Sarah Penkas, Lauren Penkas, Megan Andjelic, Jake Andjelic and Jennifer Andjelic. He is also survived by many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Laverne (Lukasik) Szewczyk. Al was an Executive Director for the Cook County Pension Fund, a former Chicago Police officer and also worked at Continental Bank in Chicago. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E Francis Road, New Lenox IL 60451 on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM, leaving for St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. Second Ave. New Lenox IL 60451 for a Mass of Catholic Burial at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
