Age 59 of New Lenox passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL.

Annette was born on February 28th, 1964, to Alex H. and the late Marian R. (nee Bartkiewicz) Giertych in South Chicago, IL. She was raised in South Holland, IL, along with her dear siblings: the late Theresa Golaszewski, Stephen Giertych, Nancy (Charles) Pearson, and Joseph (Christine) Giertych.

She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. It was then after college that she met her future husband, Jeff Ondrejka, also raised in South Holland. She moved to the Gold Coast neighborhood in Chicago in the late 80’s where she started her career in accounting.

On September 22nd, 1990, Jeff and Annette were lovingly married at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago and moved to the suburbs. In the summer of 1999, they built a house in New Lenox, IL, to love and raise their children: Megan (Kelton) Zimmerman, Mary Ondrejka, and Kevin Ondrejka. This is where she also became a Partner with the accounting firm Friedman & Huey Associates LLP.

Her favorite activities throughout the years included gardening in her yard, running outside with all the family dogs, soaking in the sun at Corey Lake in Michigan, and being an adoring, loving mother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends, including her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins.

The family will receive visitors at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, for visitation from 3pm-8pm. Funeral services are Thursday, July 6, 2023, with everyone meeting at St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, IL for a Funeral Mass at 10am. Inurnment to follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
