Arthur H. LeJeune, age 82, a resident of New Lenox, formerly of Hickory Hills and Minocqua, WI passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.
Art is survived by his loving wife Ria (Taeyaerts) LeJeune; beloved children Arthur (Tami) LeJeune, Andy (Heidi) LeJeune; cherished grandchildren Miranda, Jack and Josie LeJeune and Taylor, and Dillon Balk; dear sister Jeanine (late Bill) Lodge; fond uncle of numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Art is preceded in death by his beloved parents Arthur and Thelma and sisters Dianne (Nick) Keefe and Suzanne (Jim) Minor.
During their 54 years of marriage, Art and Ria instilled strong family values through family dinners, game nights and vacations. He was a veteran of the Air National Guard of Illinois and The Reserve of the United States Air Force. He was an avid fisherman, as well as fishing guide and coach. Art was known for his wide assortment of t-shirts, each displaying a unique light-hearted pun. Those who knew him looked forward to reading his “selection of the day."
A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox IL 60451 on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services on Saturday, November 6, 2021 will begin with a prayer service in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 AM, leaving for Saint Jude’s Catholic Church, 241 W 2nd Ave, New Lenox, IL 60451 for A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Inurnment at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, Illinois will be held privately at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Wounded Warriors Family support (https://www.wwfs.org/) are appreciated.
