Bobby L. Smothers

Age 69, of New Lenox, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Bobby was born in Marion, IL to Dorothy (nee Simmons) Smothers and the late Robert L. Smothers. Loving father of Josh (Jackie) Bethell, Nathan (Danielle) Bethell, Crystal (Dominick) Pasqurella, and Kylee (Jomon Poe) Smothers; cherished grandfather of Addison and Lucas Bethell, Joel, Natalie, and Reagan Bethell, Evan, Giuliana, and Ethan Pasqurella, Aerie, Kilik, and Olive Poe; proud great grandfather of Gracelynn; dear brother of Paula (Terry) Darnall, and Linda (Chuck) Repiscak; loved uncle and friend of many. Bobby was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150. He was employed by Wagner Sewer and Water and Dalton Brothers Sewer and Water before his retirement. Bobby was a member of and played guitar in the Slick Willy Band for 40 years. He was also an avid fisherman. Bobby will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 11:00am until the time of Celebration of Life at 2:00pm. Interment will be private.
