Charles Sandeen, of Lockport, fell asleep in death on Thursday, October 18. He was 90 years of age. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marilynn (Anderson), his dear sister, Nancy Reiter, all four of his children: Gary, Kristy, Amy, and Robyn, as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Charles was born and raised in Lockport. On May 7, 1960, he and Marilynn were married and soon began raising a family. For most of his working life, Charlie was a janitorial custodian at Lockport Township High School. In October 1972, he became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. From that point on, his primary focus in life was the promotion of Bible principles. He proved by his example that a person of integrity can enjoy a rich and fulfilling life. (Proverbs 10:22) In addition to his teaching and spiritual ‘shepherding’ work, he was instrumental in the construction, renovation, and maintenance of several places of worship in Joliet, Romeoville, Lockport, and the surrounding areas.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 15827 S Frederick Ave. in Plainfield. A memorial discourse will follow at 5:00 p.m.
