JACOB ANTON CHINDERLE, JR.
AUGUST 3, 1917 – JUNE 17, 2013
Age 95, born in Joliet on August 3, 1917. He resided in Lockport, Illinois for 64 years in the house he and his wife built.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jacob & Antonia Chinderle, his wife of 63 years, Sophie (Mikula) Chinderle, son, Ronald, daughter, Karen Dowhamyla, siblings, Joey Chinderle, Mary Ready, Elizabeth Chinderle, Antonia Likar, Vincent Chinderle, son-in-law, Edward Granville and three grandchildren.
Surviving are his loving children, Cecile (Randy) Brown, Susan Granville, Jake (Clair) Chinderle III, Sharon Chinderle and Karel Dowhamyla. Also surviving is his beloved grandson, John Dowhamyla, 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, 2 sister-in-laws, Dorothy Elliott of New York and Clara (Don) Weiss of Joliet.
Jacob was a member of the OCAW Union Local 222. He retired from Texas Company after 38 years of service. Jacob was a self made man, an avid fisherman, gardener and jack of all trades. There wasn't a job he couldn't do.
Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton St., Lockport, IL 60441on Friday, June 21st , 2013 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Saturday, June 22nd , 2013 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and then to St. Dennis Church, 1214 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, IL 60441 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
