James L. Minelli
72, of Steger, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his home. Jim was born in the Roseland area of Chicago to the late Louis V. and Madeline (nee Blazak) Minelli. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice (nee Smith); loving father of Shannon Wilson, Brian Rosenbalm, Kim Petersen, Tina (Rob) Johnson, and Dan (Aprel) Downey; cherished grandfather of Faith and Justin Wilson, Michael, William, and Savannah, Hannah, Jake, and Sandra; proud great-grandfather of four, and great-great-grandfather of one; dear brother of the late Janyce Wheeler and the late Louis V. Jr (Sharon) Minelli; beloved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was a retired Traffic Dispatcher from U.S. Steel and a proud U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, New Lenox on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 10:00am until time of Memorial Service at 12:00pm. Inurnment to follow with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
