Karen M. Dowhamyla (nee Chinderle)
60, at rest Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. Survived by her loving husband Karel Dowhamyla of 32 years and devoted and loving son John Dowhamyla; sisters Cecile (Randal) Brown, Susan (late Edward) Granville; a brother Jacob (Clair) Chinderle III; sister-in-law Sharon (late Ronald) Chinderle; father Jacob A. Chinderle Jr.; aunts Dorothy Elliott, Clara and uncle Don Weiss, who always took the time to listen; special friend Rosemary; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Karen will be remembered as a very free-spirited and giving mom, wife, daughter and sister. Preceded in death by a son Jeffery Shaffer (2009); mother Sophie A. (nee Mikula) Chinderle; mother and father-in-law Michael and Paula Dowhamyla. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451, on Saturday, February18, 2012 from 9:00AM until time of funeral service at 11:00AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Joliet.
