Age 71, a resident of Oak Forest, formerly of Oak Lawn, Chicago Ridge, and Frankfort, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 at Palos Community Hospital, Palos Heights.

Kurt is survived by his loving family, wife, Patricia Westergren (Wirtz); children Kurt “JR” (Elizabeth) Westergren, Erica (Daniel) Wolfe and Lisa (Jessie) Jacobo; siblings Lynn Vandenberg (the late Michael), Nancy (Robert) O’Brien, Jan Westergren and Scott (Kristin) Westergren; grandchildren Amelia, Robby, Elena and Matthew; 71nieces and nephews. All were deeply loved by Kurt.

Kurt was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Adele Westergren.

Kurt worked for Clark Oil Refinery for 21 years until 1996 and retired from Paul Reilly Company as a service manager in 2016.

Kurt loved his family, friends, cars, motorcycle, boat, garage, and experiencing the country’s natural sights. He shared his experience, strength and hope whenever he was needed. Kurt cherished the special moments and relationships he had with so many. He counted himself blessed by you. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 3 to 9pm. Funeral service at Parker Road Bible Church, 18512 S. Parker Road, Mokena, IL 60448, Thursday, September 9th at 10:30am. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Frankfort IL.
