Margaret E. Delaughter

Margaret E. DeLaughter (nee Marshall), age 88, passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital.
Margaret is survived by her loving children Margaret Norman and Mary (Steven) Thompson; Grandchildren, Cheryl Lynn (Josh) Norman Miller, Christine (Jimmie) Murray and Michelle (Jim) Wolfe; and her dear great grandchildren, William, Veronica, Brooke, Abigail, and Carson.
She is preceded in death by her husband William V. DeLaughter; parents, Clarence and Elizabeth Marshall; and her brother Robert C. Marshall.
Margaret will be remembered fondly by all that knew her. She was a proud member of St. Peters Church in Frankfort where she sang in the choir and as a proud member of the Women’s Fellowship. She worked for Nuway Disposal for over 40 years as a secretary and assisted as a Girl Scout leader. Margaret was also very involved with the Frankfort School District where she served on the PTO and is a past president of. When her husband was alive, she enjoyed spending time at the VFW Post 1493 and served on the Women’s Auxiliary. She also had a passion and love for all animals no matter their shape or size. Though she will be remembered for many things, what she will be remembered most for is her love for her family. Margaret was a person who embodied the “Family First” mentality and would do anything for any of them at the drop of a hat. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Services for Margaret will be held at St. Peters Church, 12 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort IL, 60423 with the service beginning at 11:00am on Saturday, June 12th, 2021. Margaret will be inurned at Beverly Cemetery privately. In lieu of flowers donations to Brookfield Zoo in Margaret's name would be appreciated.
