Marilyn A. Cozzie

December 19, 1936 — June 24, 2022

Marilyn A. (nee Gerasch) Cozzie, age 85, passed away at her home in New Lenox on Friday, June 24, 2022.
She is survived by her loving children, Cindy (late William) Schubert, Glen (Diane) Cozzie, and Janet (Alfredo) Contreras; grandchildren, William (Katie) Schubert, Ryan Schubert, John (Tina) McCaffrey, James (Kristina) Cozzie, Vincent Contreras, and Kevin Contreras; numerous great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild; siblings, Allen Gerasch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband Louis Cozzie; parents, Leonard and Elsie (nee Silhan) Gerasch; and her brother Gerald (Anne) Gerasch.
She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and baking skills, and she found great enjoyment in cooking for everyone on Thanksgiving. She also enjoyed spending her spare time doing any kind of puzzle book, but most of all she loved her family. She was the bedrock of the family and found her greatest joy in life from spending time with them. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Services for Marilyn will begin with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd, in New Lenox, on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 from 4-8pm. Services will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. 2nd Street, in New Lenox on Thursday, June 30th, 2022 at 10:30am. Marilyn will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Louis at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
