Megan Elizabeth Darling

Megan Elizabeth Darling, 29, of New Boston, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born January 5, 1985 in Joliet, Illinois, a daughter of Carl Francis and Leona Elizabeth "Betsy" Evans Darling of Wheelersburg. Megan was a 2003 graduate of Wheelersburg High School and attended Shawnee State University majoring in Natural Science. She had previously worked as a program coordinator in Lawrence County. An intellectually gifted young woman, Megan was a lover of the outdoors, cats, her dog Jo-Jo and especially loved riding horses. She was very proud of her mechanical ability and well known for her homemade salsa. In addition to her parents, Carl and Betsy Darling, Megan is also survived by her brother, Charles Alan (Laurie) Darling of Seattle, WA, her sister, Julie Marie Darling of Joliet, and her fiance', Derion Lafort of New Boston. Private Services were held. Interment, Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet. Megan gave the gift of life through organ donation.
