Age 87, of Frankfort passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 3, 2011. Beloved son of the late August and late Mary nee Goeb Zimmermann. Loving husband of the late Betty L. Zimmermann nee Nelson; dear father of Carol (Bob) O'Sullivan; cherished grandfather of Bob, Joe, and Jamie O'Sullivan; fond brother of the late August (late Rita), late Julius "Butch" (late Rita), late Richard (late Mable), late Virginia (William) Scavone, Florence (late Frank) Styx, Robert (Mary), and Barbara Curme; Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Joe was a World War II Army Veteran, 106th Infantry Division 81st Engineers Corps; Prisoner of War Stalag 9A graduated from Saint Barnabas, class of 1938, Saint Ignatius, class of 1942, and college graduate of University of Illinois. Former owner of multiple Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurants and The Original Pancake House. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423, on Friday, September 9, 2011, from 3 to 9 PM. Funeral service, Saturday, September 10, 2011 with chapel prayers at 9:15 AM to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment Frankfort Township Cemetery, Frankfort, IL.
