Age 97, a resident of Lockport, born and raised in Garfield Ridge, Chicago, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Annamae (Wantrobski); loving father of Karl III (late Gilda) Blank and Carol (Scott) Szybilski; cherished grandfather of David Szybilski, Susan Blank, Robert Szybilski, and Michael Szybilski; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Karl was a World War II Army 8th Air Force Veteran. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Lockport, founding member of the American Legion Post 1112 Marvin Seemann Garfield Ridge, and member of 1st Strategic Air Depot Association. Karl enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He especially enjoyed tinkering with small objects, and repairing watches. The family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton St., Lockport, IL 60441 on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 3-8 PM. Funeral Service Saturday, July 22, 2017 with chapel prayers at 9:30 AM to St. Joseph Church, 410 S. Jefferson St., Lockport, IL 60441 for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL.
