Naomi Dawn Grimes
On March 12, 2013, dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Naomi Dawn Grimes, departed this life surrounded by loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents Noble and Helen Lora Stibolt, brother Noble, twins Marcus and Marcie, and sister Dagmar. She is survived by her dear sister-in-law Jeanne Stibolt, much-loved children Francis M. Grimes III, Arthur (Sue) Grimes, Allen (Cindi) Grimes, R. Jerome (Mary) Grimes, Steven (Edie) Grimes, Lora (Ronald) Miller, Evelyn (Ronald) Newton, Don (Lorna) Grimes, Deanna (Glenn) Van Swol, 39 wonderful grandchildren, 40 adored great-grandchildren, and many other cousins and family.
Naomi was born in Matteson, Illinois on November 18, 1928 the fourth of five children. She married the love of her life, Francis Marion Grimes, Jr., in 1952 and stayed in Matteson until moving to Deming, NM in 1974. There they raised the last two children of nine, and she worked for the NM State Welfare and Highway Departments. Deming was her home until her beloved husband passed in 2005. She then returned to Dwight, IL to enjoy her children and pride and joys, her grand and great grandchildren. A spirited and passionate woman, she devoted the rest of her life to her family. She is dearly loved and sorely missed.
Memorial service will be held at the Calvary Memorial Church, 4216 W. 204th St, Matteson, IL on March 23 from 2-3:00 followed by a private family service. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calvary Memorial Church in Matteson
