78 of New Lenox, passed away after a courageous battle with Alzheimers Disease on Sunday, October 28th at the Joliet Hospice Home with his family at his side. Preston was born in Chicago to the late Ray and Irene (VanDyke) Wakeland. Loving husband of Penny (nee Baker), loving father of Caroline (James) Grady and Robert (Kristen) Wakeland, Cherished "Papa Preston" of Meaghan, Bridget and Maggie Grady, Dear brother of Bob (Irene) Wakeland and brother-in-law of Merry Jo (Baker) and Tom Slowinski and Robert and Mary Lee Baker. Preston was honored to be a member of the Besse family for 18 years. Preston was the Founder and President of Panel Authority Inc. for over 35 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice 250 Waterstone Circle Joliiet, IL 60431 would be appreciated. A memorial visitation will be held at St. John Episcopal Church, 312 E. 11th St, Lockport IL 60441 on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:30 AM until time of memorial service at 11:00 AM.
