Ron Hnetkovsky

Ron Hnetkovsky, age 78, a resident of Channahon, formerly of Elwood and Wilton Center, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 3, 2022 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Loving husband of Barbara Hnetkovsky (Becker); beloved daughters Deanna Hnetkovsky, Donna (Chester) Naleway; brother of Willam (Janet) Hnetkovsky; cherished grandfather of Alex Hauschild, Ariana (Kurtis) Michelfelder, Ryan (Jackie) Phelan, Abigail Hauschild, Connor (Karen) Phelan, Arick Hauschild, Chester (Aimee) Naleway and Mitchell Naleway; proud great grandfather of Anastasia Michelfelder, Peyton Phelan and Alec Naleway. He is also survived by many  brother-in -laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Ruth (Upp) Hnetkovsky.

He worked for Stepan Company in Elwood until his retirement, he then worked part time as a driver for Kurtz Memorial Chapel. He enjoyed participating in area tractor rides on his Farmall H and attending farm toy shows with his friends. Ron enjoyed camping and traveling across the United States, highlighted by his trip to Alaska.  He also looked forward to spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel,  102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox IL 60451 on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a funeral service at 8:00 PM. Interment will be private.
