Steven R. Johnson

Age 48, a resident of New Lenox formerly of Braidwood and Dwight, passed away Thursday, October 28th, 2021, with his loved ones by his side.

Steven is survived by his loving family, wife Laurie Johnson (Bernard); mother and stepfather Diana and Frank Russo; daughters Elizabeth Johnson, Rebecca Johnson, Abigail (Zack Strahan) and Madison Johnson; brothers Chuck Johnson and Danielle Russo; sister, Kristina Russo; grandchildren Carson and Mia Wellner, Sophia Strahan, and Ryder Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Johnson.

Steve loved fishing, fish tanks and his chickens and was a hard worker. He would light up a room when he came in. His laugh and his voice you could here before he entered a room. He loved his girls, and they always came first. Anytime you mention Steve there’s always laughter after. He loved to be around his buddies, people all the time and always made everyone laugh he loved family parties too and everyone was always welcome in his home. He will be truly missed but always remembered.


A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox IL 60451 on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral service on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 AM. Interment Fairmount Willow Hills Cemetery.
