Age 51, of New Lenox, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL. Tom was born in Oak Forest, IL to the late Joseph M. Sr. and the late Rava “Gerry” (nee Compton) Dakin. Beloved husband of Ann (nee Vicich) Dakin; loving father of Jessica Dakin; dear brother of Joe Dakin Jr., and Susan (Bill) Tate; brother-in-law of Michael (Tori) Vicich; loved uncle of Jordan (Taylor) Tate, Justin Tate, and Ben Vicich; dear son-in-law of Elmer “Bud” and Joan “Michaelene” Vicich; loving stepson of Donna “Ani” Dakin; cherished cousin and friend of many. Tom was a member of Sheet Metal Workers’ Local #73. He was a great handyman. He was extremely creative and could fix anything. Everyone called Tom, and he was always willing to lend a hand. He was the neighbor that everyone would love to have. Tom also enjoyed spending time on his pontoon boat whenever possible. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 2:00pm until time of Funeral Service at 5:00pm. Interment will be private at Mount Hope Cemetery, Seneca, IL.
