Alexander “Alex” Wheeler passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the age of 21. A loving son, brother, and grandson, Alex was a life-long resident of New Lenox. Alex graduated from Lincoln Way West in 2018.
Alex was a kind, creative, and analytical soul. He was a history buff and was highly knowledgeable in the events of the great wars, particularly World War II. His greatest passion, however, was music. He enjoyed going to concerts and meeting the iconic members of the bands he supported. He was a dear and warmhearted friend and helped anyone who asked. He had an endearing and infectious smile, and a compassionate spirit.
Alex was proceeded in death by his great-grandmother “Meema” Marian Zeise, grandfather Omar Wheeler, uncles Scott Sterchele and Matthew Sterchele (godfather). He is survived by his parents, Dan and Sandy, his sister Tessa, his grandparents, Carole Hussey, Vern and Sue Sterchele, and Carolyn Wheeler, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Karl Franson, his cousins, and his godmother Debbie Keating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alex’s name to Trinity Lutheran Church of New Lenox or Honor Flight Chicago would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox on Monday, May 16, 2022, from 3:00pm until time of Memorial Service at 7:00pm.
