Allan E. Matulis

Allan Edward Matulis, age 79, of Manhattan, passed away on November 8, 2021.
Allan is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Brenda Sue Matulis; siblings Wayne (Lynda) Matulis and Suzanne (Charles) Doll; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert (Patricia) Moorman, Jr., and Ronald (Beverly) Moorman; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Winifred Matulis; father-in-law, Robert Moorman; and his mother-in-law Violet Moorman.
Allan was a Navy veteran and longtime employee of Caterpillar, Inc. Allan enjoyed all things outdoors, including farming while he was growing up, racing, gardening, hunting, and camping. He was also the former president of the Caterpillar Camping Club in Joliet. He loved to tinker with cars, lawnmowers, and tractors. Allan was the family historian and was an avid reader. He loved to spend time at their home in Florida with their beloved dog, Wong. Above all else though, Allan was a man who loved his family deeply and always looked forward to family reunions and seeing everyone together. Allan will be missed by all that knew him.
Services for Allan will begin on Sunday, November 14th, 2021 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd., New Lenox, with a visitation from 1pm-4pm. The services will continue the following day, Monday, November 15th, 2021 with a brief visitation from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 12pm. Allan will be laid to rest at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Manhattan.
