Amenadab Santiago, age 80, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.
Amenadab is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Margarita (nee Diaz) Santiago; his children, Suzette (David) Woock, George (Carrie) Santiago, Evette (Michael) Zeller, and Jason Santiago; his grandchildren, Hailey Woock, Jacob Woock, Angelina Santiago, Sophia Santiago, Olivia Santiago, Sydney Zeller, Alexa Zeller, Isabela Santiago, Andrew Santiago, and Sammy Santiago; his siblings, Ishmael Santiago, and Lucy Perez; and his nieces and nephews, Frank Santiago, Liz Wilson, Melinda Santiago, and Neftali Perez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Juana (nee Concepcion) Santiago and his brother Nicholas Santiago Jr.
Amenadab was a family man, the life of the party and a friend to all. His love for his wife Margarita was the foundation upon which the family was built. He always said, “no matter what, family comes first.” Amenadab truly radiated with the pride he had in his children and grandchildren; he made them the center of his life, and they are what he lived for each and every day. He was an incredibly hardworking and dedicated man who made sure he provided for his family, always putting their needs before his own. Amenadab was known for his excellent sense of humor, the twinkle in his eye and for his overall love of life. His family loved his stories, wise life lessons which were always lined with humor, that they still tell each other to this day.
When Amenadab had free time, he loved to go fishing, or hunting, especially at his family's cottage in Michigan. He was often seen fishing on the end of the pier for a good part of the day. He and his wife Margarita both had a passion for dancing, and in their younger years would clear the dance floor as everyone would stop to watch them. Words cannot express how deeply missed he will be by all who knew him.
Services for Amenadab will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, in Frankfort on Tuesday, December 3rd, with a visitation from 1pm until the time of service at 5pm.
