Ann Marie Bukowski

Ann Marie Bukowski, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet, Illinois. She was born on November 27, 1935, in Calumet City, Illinois. She was a proud alumnus of St. Mary’s College. She lived a life dedicated to her family, faith and community.

Ann Marie shared 46 years of love and partnership with her devoted husband, Gregory Bukowski, who preceded her in death. Together, they worked harmoniously at Village Pharmacy in Lansing, Illinois, where their bond was strengthened through their shared passion for serving their community. Ann Marie's dedication extended beyond her work; she devoted many years as a CASA volunteer in Northwest Indiana, advocating for the welfare of children in need.

She is remembered fondly by her daughters, Anice (Kenneth) Arvidson, Jill (Kevin Rodriguez) Bukowski, and Eve (Jim O'Brien) Bukowski, who will cherish the many lessons and laughter they shared with their mother. Ann Marie's legacy also lives on through her grandchild, Julianne (Rob) Gange, and her great-grandchild, Fred, who brought her immense joy and pride.

She is preceded in death by her son, Peter Bukowski, and her brothers Frank Czechanski and Richard Czechanski, as well as her sisters Emily (nee Czechanski) Quenzler, Florence (nee Czechanski) Quenzler and Victoria (nee Czechanski) Szymborski.

Ann Marie had a vibrant spirit and enjoyed the pleasures of life, including traveling, golfing, playing pinochle, and spending summers in Michigan. These activities were cherished moments that brought her closer to family and friends. Ann Marie’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her kindness, smile, and unwavering love will be greatly missed. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to be part of her life.
