Anthony V. Sorrentino, age 99, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Smith Crossing Assisted Living in Orland Park.
Anthony is survived by his beloved children, Gregg (Kate) and Mark (Denise); grandchildren, Dominic (Marissa), Christian (Christine), Dante, and Bianca; and his sister-in-law Carmella Donato.
He is preceded in death by his loving first wife Anne Donato Sorrentino, his second wife Marilyn West Sorrentino, his parents, Felice and Maria Sorrentino, and his siblings, Christine and Joseph.
Anthony was born and raised on a farm, instilling a wonderful work ethic from the very beginning. He was caring, and kind, and nobody was a stranger to Anthony, only friends. He was a proud veteran who bravely served his country during WWII as a pilot. Upon his discharge from the military, he worked as an Engineer and moved all over the Chicago area including, Blue Island, Flossmoor, Palatine, and Frankfort just to name a few. In his spare time Anthony enjoyed painting, he was a very talented artist who always enjoyed working with his hands. Above all else though he loved his family deeply. Anthony will be missed by all that knew him.
Services for Anthony will begin on Thursday, September 12, 2024 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL from 4pm-8pm. Services will continue the following day with a brief visitation at the funeral home from 9am-10am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W Sauk Trail, Frankfort at 10:30am. Anthony will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip.
