Arland E. “Ed” Pearcy

Age 87 of Diamond, IL and formerly of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL. Ed was born in Cumberland County, IL and later moved to Charleston, IL. Son of the late Edith (nee Groves) Keigly and Logan (Grace “Granny”) Pearcy; beloved husband of the late Linda (nee Paden) Pearcy; loving father of April (Doug Jenco) Veerman, Georgianna (Jeffery Sr.) Shenk, and the late Arland “Bub” (Brenda) Pearcy; father-in-law of the late Brad Veerman; cherished grandfather of Jerrold Miller, his “favorite” granddaughter Nicole (James) Villalobos, Kevin Veerman, Joseph Shenk, and Jeffery Shenk, Jr; dear brother of Lula (Richard) Vail, Nora (Joe) Tuley, Carl (late Mabel) Pearcy, Donald (Kathie) Pearcy, Larry (Lana) Keigley, the late Lora Young, the late Ruth (Herman) Lemons, the late Sherry Roberts, the late Ralph (late Josephine) Pearcy, the late Charles (late Linda) Pearcy, the late Dale (Julie) Pearcy, and the late Frank (Nancy) Pearcy; son-in-law of the late Lawrence and Lucille Paden; brother-in-law of Dianna Howlett, the late Brenda (late Bob) Butler, the late Thomas Paden, and the late John Paden; loved uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. Ed was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a lifelong Cub fan. He loved riding his bike, fishing, watching western movies, betting on the horses, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with his beloved pet “Little Buddy” Elwood. Ed was employed by Caterpillar, as a Machinist for over 35 years at which time he began enjoying his retirement. Ed was a retired FA with the U.S. Navy. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 3 pm – 8 pm. Funeral Services Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
