AUGUSTINE "GUS" J. NILLES

Age 87, of Lockport, passed away on Sunday, November 6th, 2011 at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville.

Augustine is survived by his loving family, children, Chuck (Sharon Sweeney) Nilles, Tim Nilles, Mary (Kevin) Nemetz, Jeanne (J. Barrett) Long, grandchildren, Patrick Nemetz, Maggie C. Long, Graham Nilles, nephew, Chuck Landon and niece Denise Mongeau.

Augustine was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Nilles, wife, Joan Nilles (Mongeau) and sister Claire Landon.

Augustine was a WWII Merchant Marine & U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Dennis Church in Lockport and a teacher for 43 years in the Valley View Public School District 365U.

Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport on Wednesday, November 9th, 2011 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Thursday, November 10th, 2011 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and then to St. Dennis Church, 1214 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lockport Fish Pantry or the St. Dennis Bread of Life Program.
