Barbra A. Noone

Barbra A. Noone, 77, of Mokena, passed away on January 9, 2025. Born in Chicago, Barbra was a graduate of St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN, where she met and later married her beloved husband of 54 years, William Noone. She is survived by her husband; children, Colin (Laura) Noone, Megan (Michael) Ford, and Padraic (Melissa) Noone; grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Jack, Darby, Naomi, William, Mary Claire, Michael, Bernadette, Patrick, John and Lucy; her sister Jill (Duane) Grahovec; in-laws John (Kathleen) Noone, and Catherine (Timothy) Frawley; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Barbra is preceded in death by her parents George and Virginia Junkunc; sister, Nancy (James) Bernard; and in-laws, William J. and Vera Noone. 

Known to her grandchildren as Teddi, Barbra led a life guided by kindness, faith, family and humor. She was passionate about education, history, reading and politics, and taught at several area Catholic schools as a substitute teacher. Barbra encouraged her kids and grandkids to pursue their own passions and loved following their journeys. She especially enjoyed attending the countless sporting activities, plays, recitals, religious sacraments, graduations and birthday parties of everyone. 

Barbra’s favorite place in the world were the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Whether it was swimming, boating, hiking, spending time with friends or playing pivotal roles in local, state and national political campaigns, she was the happiest on what she regarded as the prettiest lake ever. Being able to share her little piece of heaven with her husband, kids, grandkids and extended family was her greatest of joys. 

Services for Barbra will begin Friday, January 17, with visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort, 3pm-8pm. 

Services continue the following day at 10am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 19515 115th Ave in Mokena. Barbra will be laid to rest at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Glenwood.
