Age 63, of Joliet formerly of Alsip, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 19, 2016 at his home. Loving husband of Patti Jo (nee Fouts) Matlage; beloved father of Ryan (Cassie Jurgensen) Matlage and William (Kelsy Cupp) Matlage; dearest brother of Kenneth (Pat) Gavril and Susan (Tom) Giali; proud grandfather of Parker Matlage; cherished uncle of Cara (Steve) Terrill, Cami (Brian) Sandberg, godchild Cassie Jo (Cole) Gaines, Jon (Sara) Giali, Joseph Giali, the late Jason Giali and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a foreman for Amtrak and a member of The British Car Union. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM. Funeral service on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 9:30AM leaving for St. Jude Catholic Church 241 W. Second Ave, New Lenox for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment Chapel Hill Garden South Cemetery, Alsip IL.
