Carol J. Burnam (nee Nelson)

71, late of New Lenox, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Chicago, living in the Lincolnway area for over 42 years. Survived by her loving family; husband, Mark L. Burnam; sons, Scott and Steven Burnam; her sisters, Sandra (Rev. Ralph) Houston and Arlene (Jack) Otto. Preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Jeanette (nee Van Der Aa) Nelson. Carol was a member of Lincolnway Christian Church where she and her husband led the Music Ministry and she was a church accompanist for 55 yrs. Carol Taught Math at Gompers Junior High for 21 years and was named Illinois Teacher of the Year in 1981/1982. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox, IL 60451, on Friday, December 23, 2011 from 2-9PM. Funeral services Saturday, December 24, 2011with visitation from 9:00AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:00AM at Lincolnway Christian Church, New Lenox. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Frankfort.
