Charles E. Kondas

Charles E. Kondas, age 92, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his home in Frankfort, IL.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Janet (nee Bradley) Kondas; his children, Chet Kondas, Carolyn (Mike) Laird, Courtnay Kondas, and Brad (Kara) Kondas; grandchildren, Michael Laird, Kyle Laird, Brett Laird, and Jack Kondas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna Kondas; and his brother Edward (Evelyn) Kondas.

Charles served his country proudly as a United States Marine. Upon his honorable discharge from the military he began his 35 year career in the Steel Industry. In his free time Charles loved to explore the world with his wife Janet. Visiting many countries including, Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, France, and Italy along with a very memorable trip to Hawaii. In Charles’ down time, he was an avid golfer, tennis player, downhill skier, and he enjoyed a good game of chess. He also liked attending live theatre, musicals, antiquing, and he was also a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.

Services for Charles will take place at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL on Friday, November 29, 2024 with a visitation from 9:30am until the time of Mass at 10:30am. Charles will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors.
