Dawn Carol Sanchez McLaughlin, 47, passed away on Sunday, March 4th at her home in Frankfort, Illinois. She was born on December 21st, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois to Victor Sanchez and Lenore Nealy.
Dawn was preceded in death by her little brother, Adam Sanchez.
After completing her undergrad in nursing at Prairie State University, Dawn became a Registered Nurse, where she utilized her knowledge of healthcare and her innate talent for caregiving in various emergency rooms throughout the Chicagoland area.
She later attended college at Chamberlain College of Nursing, where she received a master's degree in nursing.
Through her hard work and dedication, Dawn became a Healthcare Quality Manager at MyCare Chicago and she rose through the ladder to become the Director of Utilization Management and Transition of Care for Family Health Network.
She was greatly admired and cared about by those that worked with her and many believed she had a successful career ahead of her. She accomplished all of this while battling breast cancer and continuing to be Super Mom to her four children.
Dawn was a member of Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park, IL, where she enjoyed participating in their upbeat services and bible study group. She enjoyed exploring the outdoors, especially during the fall season, or jamming out to 80s hits with her kids in her SUV.
She was actively involved in attending four kids' worth of year-round school activities, including sports, musicals, and extracurricular events. She also cooked the best Mexican food. In her free time she enjoyed dancing and sharing margaritas with the girls.
Dawn is survived by her sons, Jackson (25), Aris (22), Aidan (10), and her daughter, Kayla (15); the father of her children, James McLaughlin; her mother, Lenore Nealy; her father, Victor Sanchez; her aunt, Opal; her uncle, Gilbert; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her very much.
A memorial service will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL, 60423, at 12:00PM on Saturday, March 17th. A visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel on the same day from 10:00AM to 12:00PM.
A private burial will follow at a later date.
