Delia G. Perez, 77, of Steger, went home to the Lord on June 17, 2018. Survived by her loving family: Husband Nestor Perez; children: Corina (Tom) Schelfo of Cedar Lake, IN, Daniel Perez of Chicago Heights, Norma (Joe) Nakvos of Chicago Heights, Michael (Julie) Perez of Shorewood, Jo Ann (Tom) Brannigan of Mokena; twelve grandchildren: Crystal, Danny, Danni Jochebed Perez; Tommy, Breandan, Billy, Dylan Brannigan; Carly, Joey Nakvos; Zachary Peterson Perez, Emma, Benjamin Perez; one great-granddaughter, Elena Nakvos and many nieces and nephews. Sister of Irma (Timothy) Martin, of Atlanta, GA, Everardo (late Julia) Garcia of Nebraska, Eliazar (Oralia) Garcia of Chicago Heights, late Elida (Jose “Frank”) Lugo of Lansing, late Mary Lou Garcia. Born to Josefina and Guadalupe Garcia in Harlingen, TX and raised in Scotts Bluff, NE before moving to Calumet City. Delia and Nestor were married in 1960. After raising their children, Delia went to work for Lux cleaners in Chicago Heights and Carson Pirie Scott in Matteson where she was a manager of the Alterations Dept. A prayer warrior, Delia would tell everyone she met that they would be “saturated in prayer”. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 24 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on June 25, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way in Frankfort.
