Dennis Daniel Gamache

Dennis D. Gamache, loving husband of Claudia Gamache, age 77, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. 

He is survived by his wife, Claudia Gamache; sisters, Kathleen Tomlinson (Gamache) and Elizabeth Benoit (Gamache); and many nieces and nephews. 

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Edith and Wilfred Gamache. 

He will be remembered for his tremendous smile, the care and love he gave to his parents and his family. He had a long career in insurance and after many transfers and promotions he landed in the Chicago area where he met and married his wife Claudia. The two of them took a trip to Galena, IL over a weekend and were married at a small wedding chapel in Elizabeth IL, in 1993. 

He believed that the Midwest had the friendliest people. Dennis worked with CNA insurance home office in Chicago and left as the Chicago Underwriting Manager to join TJ Adams as their President. After several years, he left Adams to open a local Allstate agency to service the local community and had since retired. 

Dennis loved people, he loved to Golf, and he was an avid bicycle rider. He also loved to travel with his wife. He joined her in going to many places including Europe and Cruising. Plans had made for three more trips this year. He was always willing to say yes whether it was to have fun or to volunteer. He will be missed. 

Services for Dennis will be held on Monday, September 23, at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Franics Road, in New Lenox, with a viewing from 4pm-8pm. Services will continue the next day, Tuesday, September 24, 2024 with a visitation from 9am until the time of the funeral service at 11am. Dennis will be laid to rest privately.
