Age 88, of Valdosta, GA died peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in the Langdale Hospice House. She was born June 12, 1928 in Joliet, Illinois to the late John and Anna (Kwasniewski) Filak. Before moving to Valdosta, Dolores lived in Lockport, Illinois. Prior to retirement, she worked at Ludwig Grade School, Globe Aircraft and Illinois Pure Aluminum. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lockport, IL and then a homebound member of St. John's Catholic Church in Valdosta, GA. Dolores enjoyed life by giving to others and cherishing the time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Raymond Michalek of Lemont, Illinois. Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law Mary and Michael Dauzvardis, Nancy and Kenneth DiLiberto, and Jacqueline and Kelly Shoemaker, GA; her sister, Dorothy Filak of Lockport, IL; her seven grandchildren, Richard Dauzvardis, Alex Dauzvardis, Anna Dauzvardis, Jessica DiLiberto, Matthew DiLiberto, Adam Shoemaker and Holly Shoemaker; and her four great grandchildren, Jim Dauzvardis, Kris Dauzvardis, Autumn Riggs and Ella Riggs.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be to Almost Home Charities, Inc., 4956 Summit Ridge Road, Valdosta, GA 31602 or online at www.almosthomecharities.org, a 501c3 non-profit organization in Georgia that was started by her daughter and son-in-law. One hundred percent of these donations will go directly to charities that were dear to Dolores.

Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, on Monday, March 20th, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Tuesday, March 21st, 2017 with prayers at the funeral home at 8:30 AM and then to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 S.
