Donald J. Garland
Born: June 15, 1935

Born in Joliet, IL to the late Clark and Frances (nee Humbert) Garland. Don was the second youngest of 9. Don married the only love of his life, Judy (nee Leonard) Garland, who passed away in 2010.
Don was a hard worker and provider for his family his entire life. He was a plumber by trade. Don and his brother-in-law Rick Leonard owned and operated Joliet Plumbing & Heating for over 35 years. Don was kind, loving, caring and would do anything and everything for anyone. He enjoyed spending winters in Sarasota with extended family and his coffee crew that he saw every single morning for over 25 years. His greatest joy was watching all his grandchildren’s athletic and academic accomplishments. He was their best cheerleader. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survived by his daughter Judy (Frank) Novak, son Chuck (Diane) Garland; Grandchildren, Stephanie Toland, Stacey Clemens (John Paul), Brian (Katy) Garland, Amy (Richard) Laskowski, Benjamin (Morgan) Garland, Timothy (Breanna) Garland; Great Grandchildren, John, Grace, Bobby, Cole, Logan, Dylan, Makenzie, Sadie, Brayden, and Harper.
The family would like to thank the staff at Cedarhurst of Frankfort for their love and compassionate care, and Lightways Hospice for the comfort and care they provided.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Don’s name to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
