Doris Elizabeth Koepke (nee McAuliffe)
91, of New Lenox, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018, with family at her side. Born in Kenosha, WI to the late George and Edith (nee Block) McAuliffe, she was the beloved wife of Vernon G. Koepke for 71 wonderful years; loving mother of Karen (John W.) Maslan and Kim Alan (Carla) Koepke; cherished grandmother of Sean (Denise) Clark, James (Megan) Clark, Jason (Christine) Maslan, Jonathan (Beth) Koepke and Benjamin Koepke; proud great grandmother of Evan and Tristan Clark, Grace and Rory Clark, Isabelle and Jackson Maslan, Olivia and Harper Koepke; dear sister of Mary Jane (late Virgil "Bud") Krohn; fond aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Doris worked at the pharmacy in Batavia where she met Vern (who previously worked at the same pharmacy) when he returned from serving his country during WWII. How fitting that Vern and Doris later owned/operated Village Pharmacy in New Lenox for 25 years. Of utmost importance to Doris was her family, her friends and her faith. She loved her Irish heritage, enjoyed baking and anything to do with children. Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Jude Catholic Church, Joliet on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 9:00am until 10:00am Mass, Reverend Richard Ross, celebrant. Interment East Batavia Cemetery, Batavia, IL. Memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated.
