Duncan R. Bachmann

Age 81, of New Lenox, IL passed away on October 19, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 9, 1941, to the late Charles and Eleanor (nee Macauley) Bachmann, and was raised in Lockport, IL. Duncan is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Allene (nee Gill), daughter, Kimberly (Matthew LeBeau), and granddaughter, Lexie Sievert. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and was fondly called “Uncle Dunc” by many non-relatives. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Sheri Sievert (2019), and his siblings, Anita Wetherbee, John Bachmann, and Grace Bachmann. As a teenager, Duncan was active in boy scouts and earned the Eagle Scout award. He completed his four-year machinist apprenticeship at Argonne National Laboratory. Duncan was a founding partner of NuTec Manufacturing, a food processing equipment company from which he retired in 2006. Duncan was an avid fisherman and loved spending time at his home on Rainbow Lake in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. He loved to golf, sing karaoke, spend winters after retiring in Ft. Myers, Florida, and was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers; but most of all loved spending time with his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, New Lenox, IL or Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 12pm – 5pm at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL. Lying in state on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Lenox, IL from 9:00am until time of Funeral Service at 10:00am. Interment Manhattan Center Cemetery, Manhattan, IL.
