Earl F. Scanlan, aged 92, passed away peacefully in his home on September 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Earl was a retired Operating Engineer and a proud member of Local 150. He was also a long-term member of Crete United Methodist Church. After retiring, Earl pursued his interests in woodworking, drawing, and trains. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, hospitality, and love for his family. Earl is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lubea, his son Fred (Joni), his daughter LouAnn Generous (Curtis), and his daughter Carolyn Scanlan-Holmes (Andrew). He is also survived by his sister Emily Chenette, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great--great-grandchildren. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and his son Donald. On Mon., Sept. 30th, friends and family are invited to a Memorial Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. at the Crete United Methodist Church, 1321 Main Street, Crete, IL 60417.
