94 of Frankfort, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, at The Cottages of New Lenox. Ed was born in Green Garden Twp. on May 03, 1927 to the late Harry J. and Matilda I. (nee Wanner) Tewes. Beloved husband of Marcella (nee Wieland); loving father of Lyle Edward (Sylvia) Tewes, Kurt Ramon (Jeanne) Tewes, and Nancy (Matthew) Tewes-Srednicki; cherished grandfather of Annie (Eric) Wilhelmi, Brad Tewes (Erin) White, Daniel Lyle (Samantha) Tewes, Andrea Renee (James) Boldrey, Lori Jeanne (Matthew) Wieclaw, Amy Rae (Gunars) Inka, Jennifer Murray and Yvonne (Todd) Chentnik, Brian (Emily) Benninghoff, Kurtis Benninghoff, Darin (Tess) Benninghoff and Danielle Benninghoff; proud great-grandfather of Jackson and Mia Marcella Boldrey, Lukas and Davis Inka, Max and Emmie Rae Wieclaw, Avery Anne Wilhelmi, Claire and Charlotte Tewes, Beckett Edward, Daxton White, Devin Tripp, Rachel Murray, Hunter, Hailey, Jake, Jenna Chentnik and Caleb Benninghoff; great great grandfather of Vivian Tripp; dear brother of the late Raymond Tewes and the late Lloyd (late Gerri) Tewes; loved uncle; and dear friend of many. Ed lived and breathed the farm life way, he raised his family that way, made lifelong friends that way, loved God, his country, and his land that way. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him. He was a member of the Church Council at St. Peter’s U.C.C., a Frankfort School Dist. 157-C Board member, a member of the Will County Farm Bureau, and a life-long White Sox fan. Ed was extremely proud of being a member of the Frankfort Grain Tower building team in 1947. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ed's name to St. Peter's U.C.C. Memorial Fund or Will County Farm Bureau Foundation would be appreciated. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, Frankfort on Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 2pm - 6pm. Funeral Services on Monday, August 9, 2021, at St. Peter’s U.C.C. Frankfort with a visitation from 9:30am until time of Funeral Service at 10:00am. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Frankfort, IL.
