EDWARD I MELBY

Age 81 of Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday, May 19th 2015 at his home in Frankfort.

Edward is survived by his loving family, wife, Linda Melby (Funk), children, Lynn (Mark) Schaub, Edward R. (Gayle) Melby, William (Amy) Melby, sister, Myrtis Murray, grandchildren, Matthew, Nicole, Michael, Celia, Brett, Daniel, Zachary, Christopher, Claire, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Ingoff & Florence Melby (Cayer), siblings, Dixie Steves and William Wright.

Edward was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from school district #228 as a Counselor and Coach and was a long time member of Prestwick Country Club. Edward served as a child and family Counselor at Worth Township for 37 years and recently at Ingalls Hospital.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 21st, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. Funeral service, Friday, May 22nd, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Peace Memorial United Church of Christ, 10300 W. 131st Street, Palos Park, IL 60467. Interment, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
