Edward Joseph Johnson
Age 87, lifelong of Lockport passed away on March 29, 2015, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice House. He is survived by his loving family; daughter Janice (Bill) Gora; brother Richard (Jeanette) Johnson; sister Dorothy ( late Ray) Kline; grandchildren Kelly, Claire and Kevin Gora; nieces and nephews Warren (Helen) Kirk, Robert Kirk, Thomas (Mary) Turner, Nancy Vargo, Jacob (April) Johnson and Amelia Johnson and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Johnson; parents Arch and Marie Johnson; brother Robert Johnson; sisters Helen Johnson and Lorraine (late Donald) Turner and a nephew Bob Turner. Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in Germany during the Korean Conlfict; he worked as a Yard Forman and Truck Driver for Lyons Lumber in Joliet until his retirement in 1993, member of the Lockport VFW, American Legion and Moose and a lifelong member of Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Lockport. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton St., Lockport, IL 60441 on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Warren Kirk officiating.
