Eileen O'Connell passed away at home, of natural causes on Thursday evening 3-3-2022. Born on 11-15-1932. Eileen lived a full life and enriched the lives of many. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Joseph O'Connell.
Eileen was born and raised in Chicago where she met and married the love of her life. She married John on November 21st,1953 at St. Augustine's Church in Chicago. Eileen was an excellent Bridge player earning many master's Points at Tournaments. She also loved playing and winning at Canasta with her family and teaching them another game, Ticker Tape, which had a 12-to-15-hour time limit. She would pass the time until her next turn either telling jokes or laughing uncontrollably at other's jokes. She had a great sense of humor and infectious laugh.
Eileen is survived by her loving 4 children, John (Linda) O'Connell, Maureen (James, deceased) Craig, Dan (Debbie) O'Connell and Tim O'Connell. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Kyle (Lydia) O'Connell, Meghan (Anthony) Addison, Hayley (Nate) Tenpas, Caitlin (Kyle) Robinson, Kellie O'Connell, Kayla O'Connell, Cathy (Calixto) Craig Urbano, Patrick Craig. Eileen was also blessed with 8 great grandsons, Cristian, Julian, Declan, Liam, Myles, Owen, Nolan, and Mason. Eileen felt blessed to have her son Tim and Shamy as her primary care givers for the last years of her life.
A memorial visitation will be at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. prayers in the funeral home chapel, leaving for St. Anthony Catholic Church, Frankfort for a 12:00 PM Memorial Mass. Inurnment will be private for family members.
