Eugene D. “Sonny” Johnson
84, of New Lenox, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018. Sonny was born in Lockport to the late Edward and Elizabeth (nee Kern) Johnson. He married Louise (nee Peterson) who preceded him in death in 2012. They had four children; Alan (Lisa), Marcia Myers, Connie (Ron) Sliwinski, and Lori Johnson; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; also survived by his siblings Leonard, Georgene, Dorothy, Elaine, and Karen; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his siblings Charles, Virginia, Etta Mae, Evelyn, and three brothers in infancy. Sonny retired from Mobil Chemical after over 20 years of service. He was an Honorary Member of New Lenox VFW Post # 9545. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the New Lenox VFW would be appreciated. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox on Saturday, September 8, 2014 from 11am – 1pm.
