Florence S. Spencer (nee Schwab)
Passed away peacefully at 100 years of age on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in St. George, Utah. Florence was born in Joliet to the late Henry and Josephine (nee Welz) Schwab. Beloved wife of the late Herbert Spencer; loving mother of Cliff (Debbie), Lynn (Gary) Donisch, and Arlene (Mark) Laraway; cherished grandmother of Brooke (Josh) Spencer, and Nicole Semplinski; great grandmother of Mason James Spencer; dear sister of Lois (Robert) Delaney and sister-in-law of Helen Schwab. Florence was preceded in death by her brothers Henry Schwab Jr, Richard Schwab and Robert Schwab; her sisters Marie Carey, Henrietta DuBien, Louise Powers, Frances Stroh, Irene Bauman, and Rita Mitchell. Florence was employed at Elmhurst Cemetery for over 30 years and was a volunteer at Senior Services for many years. She also enjoyed playing euchre. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd. New Lenox on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 4 – 7pm. Funeral Service Saturday, October 13 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet.
