Francis J. "Bud" Ulrich
86, of New Lenox, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at home (in hospice and family care). Born in Joliet to the late Frank and Clara (nee Dorr) Ulrich, lived his full married life in New Lenox. Beloved husband of the late Catherine R. "Kay" (nee Garbin); Loving father of Paul (Lisa), James (Lisa), Patricia Ann (Thomas) Loftus, David (Lynn), and Janice Ulrich; his grandchildren, Thomas Ryan Loftus, Nicole & Bradley Ulrich, Michael, Samantha, Dominique and Monica; dear brother of the late Therese (the late Rudy) Czichon, Edith (the late Bernie) Lawrence, and the late Loretta (Richard) Studer; fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. "Bud" was the owner of Ulrich's Catering for 55 years. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox. "Bud" enjoyed working in his yard in the summer and enjoyed his back yard with family and friends. He treasured the time he got to spend with his grandkids. His family would like to thank the New Lenox Fire Department, Silver Cross Hospital staff and St. Joe's Hospital staff for their exceptional care, service and compassion – displayed over the past three years. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Catholic Church Building Fund would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 2 – 8 PM. Funeral service Friday, June 5, 2014 with chapel prayers at 8:30AM to St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, for Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM. Interment with honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 11:00AM.
