Frank Michael Hohm, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, in Lemont, Illinois.
Frank was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 11, 1939, to the late Blanche Herzberger and Edward Hohm. Frank married Nancy Elizabeth Goreham on August 13, 1960, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Frank served in the United States Air Force and later joined and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration where he was a Radar Technician for 33 years. While in the Air Force, he was stationed in Alaska and maintained radars along the Distant Early Warning Line known as the DEW Line. The DEW Line was a series of radars guarding our Northern border. He was also an avid golfer and billiards player in his younger days.
Frank is survived by his loving family: wife of 64 years, Nancy Hohm (nee Goreham), daughter, Natalie (Michael) Hamer, grandchildren, Erika (Raymond) Hamer and Michael Hamer, great-grandchild, Abram Sherman, siblings, Virginia Gicla, Harold (Donna) Hohm, and Cheryl Hohm, along with countless great-nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Blanche Marcukaitis (Herzberger) and Edward Hohm.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, Illinois, on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, from 9:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 11:30 AM. Internment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
