Garnet S. Sekula (Rutz)
Age 85, of Matteson, formerly of Blue Island, IL, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Ernest R. Sekula; loving mother of Pat (Chris) Sekula, Michael (Amy) Sekula, and Sandra (Thomas) Murphy; cherished grandmother of Adam Sekula, Patrick Sekula, Matthew Murphy, and Amanda Murphy; dear sister of Doris (Norman) Arnell and Fred (Billie Jean) Rutz. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Dorothy Rutz (Foote), and brother Irving (late Elayne) Rutz. Garnet was very creative and artistic. She enjoyed quilting, ceramics, painting, jigsaw puzzles, board games, and cards with family. She had a strong spirit, great strength, and a love for living life. She adored her family and loved spending time together. She leaves many precious memories of holiday get-togethers, weekend car rides, and fun times looking at photos and home movies. She was a beloved wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and dear sister who will always be remembered and never forgotten. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 4-8 PM.
