George A. Meurer, Jr.
Age 90, beloved husband of Barbara (Cromer) for 65 years, died October 27, 2018, after a long illness. Loving father of Susan (Roger) Fraser and Michael (Ema) Meurer; cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Chris) Bolek, Eric Fraser, Emily Fraser, Scott (Jessalyn) Meurer, Mark Meurer, Alisa Meurer, Rachel Meurer, and Marcela Rios; great-grandfather of Miles Bolek; dear brother of Marilyn (Raymond) Stukel; uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Frances and father George, Sr., as well as his brother James Meurer, his sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Harold Coakes, and nephew David Stukel. George was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, and an avid Chicago White Sox fan and was so happy to witness one World Championship win by the White Sox in his lifetime!
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL. Interment with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
