George D. Weakley
Age 88, a resident of Mokena, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 8, 2018. George proposed to his beloved wife Patricia (McAllister) after 3 days and they have been happily married for 65 years. He is the loving father of Beverly (Fred) Krupa, Deborah Weakley, David (Cheryll) Weakley, and Elizabeth (Scott) Beck; cherished grandfather of Kimberly (Darrin) Snay, Kurt (Daphne) Krupa, Daniel Weakley, Rachel (Sean) Shumard, Kelly Martin, Ashley (Marc) Chillingsworth, Lauren Martin, and Patrick Sarsgard; and great-grandfather of Rylee Snay, Finley Krupa, Teagan Shumard, and Tatum Krupa. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Hazel Weakley (Dilsaver) and siblings John (Betty) Weakley and Fleda “Mickey” Weakley. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank-You to Melody Spence for her sympathetic and compassionate care for George, and Stephanie and the team at Great Lakes Caring Hospice for their gentle, empathetic care. George was a United States Air Force Veteran and proudly served in the Korean War. He retired as VP from Clark Equipment Company after 39 years of dedicated service. George was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in New Lenox, and Delta ta Delta at Michigan State. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making birdhouses, and completing crossword puzzles in ink. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 241 W. 2nd Ave., New Lenox, IL 60451 on September 21, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Interment with full military honors to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kurtz Memorial Chapel, New Lenox.
