George E. Gingras

George E. Gingras, age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

George is survived by his beloved wife Patricia (nee Covey) Gingras; children, Megan (Kevin) Munson and Daniel Gingras; grandchildren, Ellie Louise, Hallie Marie, and Benjamin George; his sister Peggy (Richard) Gudmundson; and his mother-in-law, Barbara Royalty.

He is preceded in death by his mother Florence Gingras and his sisters, Carol Gavigan and Diane Margita.

George loved John Wayne, chocolate, yellow corvettes, trains, camping, playing cards, Indycar and Disney World. He loved baking cookies, cakes and pies almost as much as he loved eating them. But most of all, George loved his family. We will miss him dearly!

Services for George Gingras will begin on Friday, April 19th, 2024 with a visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, from 4pm-8pm. Services will continue the following day, Saturday, April 20th, 2024 with a visitation at the funeral home from 9am until the time of service at 11am. George will be laid to rest at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Glenwood. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lightways Hospice (aka Joliet Community Hospice)  in George's name would be appreciated.
